The Algarve Biomedical Center (ABC) is proud to announce the official inauguration of its new Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) Unit, set to take place on September 27, 2024, in Loulé. This milestone marks a significant step forward for the region, reinforcing ABC’s commitment to excellence and scientific development.

Located in Loulé, the new unit is part of the ABC Imaging Lab and aims to promote clinical research in the Algarve by providing high-quality MRI exams in close collaboration with the Local Health Unit. This opening will offer the local population easier and faster access to this advanced technology, which is crucial for diagnosing and monitoring various medical conditions.

The launch of this unit not only grants local residents access to cutting-edge MRI technology but also strengthens the Algarve’s role as a center of excellence in health research and innovation. The MRI Unit will work closely with research teams from the Local Health Unit of the Algarve and the Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University of Algarve, supporting the development of new techniques and approaches in healthcare.

The ABC MRI Unit will be staffed by a highly specialized technical team, ensuring patients are accompanied throughout all procedures with maximum safety and confidentiality.

The inauguration ceremony will feature a guided tour of the new facilities, scheduled for 2:30 PM at the ABC Imaging Unit in Loulé.
