Manuel Delgado holds a degree in Economics from the Higher Institute of Economics. He completed a postgraduate program in Hospital Administration at the National School of Public Health of the Nova University of Lisbon. He served as the President of the Board of Directors at Curry Cabral Hospital and Pulido Valente Hospital. Additionally, he held the position of Secretary of State for Health in the XXI Constitutional Government.
Manuel Delgado is a founding member and served as the President of the General Assembly of the Portuguese Society for Quality in Health. He was also a member of the General Council of the Portuguese Association for Hospital Development (APDH) and served as the President of the General Assembly of the Portuguese Association of Hospital Administrators. He held the position of President of the Board of the Portuguese Association of Hospital Administrators for four terms (1992-2008) and served as the President of the Board of the European Association of Hospital Managers. Currently, he is an Associate Professor at the National School of Public Health, Nova University of Lisbon.
