Invited Assistant Professor and Researcher at the Centre for Bioethics, Faculty of Medicine of the University of Lisbon. Degree in Law from the Faculty of Law of the University of Coimbra. Postgraduate studies in management and public administration. PhD in Bioethics from the Catholic University, Portugal, with the thesis ‘Consent in Biobanks for biomedical research’. Certified Trainer in Scientific Integrity from the Amsterdam University Medical Centre. She is Vice-Chair of the Ethics Committee of the School of Health of the Portuguese Red Cross – Lisbon, Technical and Scientific Scientific Coordinator for the Ethics Committee of the Lisbon Academic Centre for Medicine, Member of the Ethics Reflection Group of the Portuguese Palliative Care Association and a member of the ABC Ethics Committee. She was a lawyer from 2000 to 2006 and the Executive Secretary for the National Council Ethics for Life Sciences from 2006 to 2024.
