The Algarve Biomedical Center (Centro Académico de Investigação e Formação Biomédica do Algarve) is an innovative academic centre and a consortium of three institutions: University Hospital Center of Algarve (Centro Hospitalar Universitário do Algarve – CHUA), a Medical School – Faculty of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences of the University of Algarve (Faculdade de Medicina e Ciências Biomédicas da Universidade do Algarve-FMCB) – and a biomedical research institute of excellence – Algarve Biomedical Center Research Institute (ABC-RI).
